5 ways to be happy with yourself NOW!

1.Address Your Fears

 

To overcome your fears you must confront them. You cannot allow your fears to run you. Acknowledge that you have fear; now let’s find out how to face them.

 

  • Write them down on a piece of paper. Go into detail about why what your fears are and why you feel you have those fears.
  • Pray to God about each fear, all at once or one at a time. Have someone pray with you as well. (Trust me having a support system helps with the process).

 

I keep a journal and its filled with my concerns and prayers to God. My latest fear was starting THIS blog. I knew that God was leading me to do it and I was excited. As the days got closer to my first post, I started to freak out! I began to second guess myself. I told God that I no longer knew what to say or “what if I’m sharing something that no one cares to read”. I started to fear that I was wasn’t good enough to have a blog. At that moment I realized that this blog wasn’t just for me but for everyone. I know that God is using this platform to show us all our worth and that He didn’t create any mistakes. I’m just here to manage it and I’m honored.

2. Change your way of thinking

 

In order to be happy with yourself, you must first see yourself for who you are and not who society says you “should” be.

 

Start by keeping a journal. Set aside time and write in it daily

 

Write encouraging words and hang them up around the house

 

Every time you pass a mirror say something positive about yourself. (Ex. “Wow! I am impressed with how You made me, God!”)

 

 

Sit and ask God what does He think of you!

 

I did this about three years ago and His response to me was “You are enough, You are enough, You are ENOUGH”, I sat in the car crying. Growing up I never felt good enough for anything or anyone and hearing God tell me that would be the start of me aiming to love myself as He does.

3.Challenge yourself to step outside of your box

 

I know that doing something that makes you step outside of your comfort zone can be a bit scary, especially when it’s something you’ve never done before.

 

Write down the top 3 things you want to do but have been afraid to do and execute them

 

4. Stop neglecting your gift

 

Did you know by neglecting your gift you are stopping yourself from who God is calling you to be. There’s never going to be another you, ever! God only made one; meaning your gift is catered just to you and you alone. You are enough to carry out that gift.

 

  • Stop seeking the approval of others. People get jealous and insecure all the time and will tell you that you can’t do what God is calling you to do. It's up to you if you chose to listen to the world or to God. Just remember that God has the greatest confidence in you. God is saying, if I am backing you up, step out and do it!

 

5. Live in the moment

We often get too caught up with what’s next in our life. We forget to enjoy the now. Enjoy what life has to offer at that moment, don’t lose focus on where you are now because you are focused on where you are going. Live in the moment and enjoy the process.
